About Dr. Ellis
Dr. Ellis was born and raised in Port Gibson, Mississippi, which is about
thirty miles south of Vicksburg in Claiborne County. He is a sixth generation
Mississippian with family in Claiborne County since 1828. He and his wife,
Alice share six children, four of them married and have recently welcomed
their first grandchild, Avery Travis Frazier! Dr. Ellis is an avid outdoorsman
and enjoys riding his Harley and learning to play golf. The Ellis’ are members
of Immanuel Baptist Church, and they have also been known to attend
Mississippi State University football games.

Dr. Ellis attended Port Gibson High School and graduated from Chamberlain-Hunt Academy in Port Gibson. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Political Science from Delta State University in 1979. Dr. Ellis is a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree in 1983. Upon graduation, he returned to his home town of Port Gibson, where he practiced general dentistry until 2006 when he relocated his practice to Vicksburg. Dr. Ellis served his junior and senior dental school classes as president and is a past president of the University Of Mississippi School Of Dentistry Alumni Association. He is also a past president of the Mississippi Dental Association and also served many years on the MDA Board of Trustees and as a member of the MDA Executive Committee. Dr. Ellis is also a member of the American Dental Association, The Pierre Fauchard Academy and is a fellow of the American College of Dentists.
Dr. Ellis has participated in the Donated Dental Services Program sponsored by the Mississippi Dental Association since its inception in 1995 and has provided dental care to needy disabled, elderly and medically-compromised Mississippians in this area. Dr. Ellis, his wife Alice and their youngest daughter Kaitlyn, recently participated in the Mississippi Dental Association sponsored MOM (Mission of Mercy) project that was held in Jackson, Mississippi, where almost 1500 needy Mississippians received dental care in two days.
Dr. Ellis loves the “Art and Science of Dentistry” and enjoys providing comprehensive dental care for his patients.
